Dorothy Hewitt started her career in 1955 and trained at The Domestic and Trades College Manchester and also at the Rene Clairo on St. Peters Square Manchester. I was also an assessor for City & Guilds Advanced Ladies and taught in Hollings College for Several years and then went on to do a 3 year course studying tricology in Manchester and London.

Finally, I opened my first salon in Dallam and have been in my present salon - "BEYOND THE FRINGE" on Suez Street - since 1961. The salon had its own training school for several years.

Beyond The Fringe is the most experienced Salon in the Northwest for wigs and hairpieces, as I have been involved in this field of work since the sixties. We stock hundreds of wigs in real hair and Acrylic fibre, including custom made wigs and pieces for scar tissue areas where a full wig is not always required, rather like popping in a piece of a jigsaw. We also supply, Dermalite wigs for total alopecia. Wigs can also be customised to your personal requirements. We supply wigs to the NHS and the salon has two private fitting rooms where we offer a free consultation with our well trained and happy staff. I was personally trained by Simon Forbes, the inventor of hair extensions in the early nineties. I then went on and trained to become an educator for Dome monofibre extensions and worked alongside their demo team in large trade exhibitions. We were the first salon to introduce hair extensions to Warrington.

Dome monofibre extensions are easy to maintain, they do not damage the hair in any way. No glue is used and a weft is not needed, no tight scalp plaiting or stitching either. The colour match is perfect as the extension colours are blended in the salon. You can also have highlights or lowlights at no extra cost! The extensions are put in individually, this gives total control on how thick or thin each extension needs to be to blend in with your own hair. A free consultation is provided in the salon and before and after photos of work we have done are available. Dome extensions are great for adding volume, colour and thickness to fine hair. Beyond the Fringe also stock Medicuticals, the latest in hair care products for cleansing, thickening and helping stronger regrowth. These products are only available in trained salons, not over the internet as it is a medical treatment.
